OrchardWorld and Norton Folgate collectively known as The Orchard Fruit Company supply fruit to the nation’s supermarkets. In 2018 they launched their very own consumer facing brand ‘OrchardWorld’, with a range of Top Fruit, Stone Fruit, Citrus and Cherries available at Ocado, Wholefoods Market, Costco, and Amazon Fresh to name but a few.
The brand marketing team tried something a little different this year, which turned out to be a success…. an ‘OrchardWorld’ Cherry Picking event. ‘We like to engage with our followers where we can, and hold events that allow us to immerse consumers in growing and nature and make connections with where the fruit is grown’ said Sam Trebbick, OrchardWorld Commercial Manager. ‘This comes in the form of giving ticketed tours and events, social media features and various social media competitions and recipe ideas. Our Cherry Harvest Tours are the most popular and we wanted to open this experience up to a larger audience, without taking away the personal interaction element to it’. Cherry picking was of course the main attraction but there were other interesting things to do and learn.
There was a fruit tasting station, fun activities for children, insights into sustainability and beneficial bugs, an OrchardWorld stand selling fruit, plus an ice cream van and a tractor ride! Having had positive feedback from all, plans are already in motion to discuss a bigger event for next year..
