Celebrating 35 years….

OrchardWorld has come a long way since being created in 1989, supplying top fruit from the UK and global sources. Mark Culley in particular who has grown with the business since the start has had a multitude of challenges and successes through the years. Up there with the best of them must be heading a project for developing growing techniques to demonstrate Royal Gala could be grown in the UK. This took years of hard work and much convincing but was a huge success. Royal Gala today boasts more than 70,000 tonnes of annual sales. In addition to this the company was successful in championing the supply chain cost reduction through targeting production processes to enhance efficiencies. OrchardWorld was also the first UK business to set up packing at source production in South Africa in early 2000. Today this is the standard practice of the fresh produce industry in general. In 2017 OrchardWorld and Norton Folgate (Citrus, Stone Fruit and Cherry specialists) amalgamated to form The Orchard Fruit Company, allowing the business to be at the cutting edge of world production procuring fruit from the UK, Europe and the Southern Hemisphere.
